Thirst Shortlisted for Adelaide Festival Literature Awards


Thirst has been shortlisted for the Arts South Australia Adelaide Festival Children’s Literature Prize. I am off to Adelaide in a couple of weeks to attend the festivities and the presentation dinner. Thirst is in fine company. Also shortlisted were: Hello From Nowhere by Raewyn Caisley, Crossing by Catherine Norton, Figgy in the World by Tamsin Janu, One Minute’s Silence by David Metzenthen and Michael Camilleri, and Paper Planes by Allayne L. Webster. AFAL-image-721x2001Judging Criteria: Children’s Literature Award ($15,000) For a published book, fiction or non-fiction aimed at readers up to approximately 11 years. The book must have a substantial literary content.

      Adelaide is this weekend. Sydney Writer’s festival is on in May, around the 21st, I think. Feel like sharing a hotel room with me whilst I indulge my passion for reading? Perhaps you might like to come to some of the events??? In fact, the Blue Mountains always has an awesome program. Perhaps I could stay at your place instead???
