Give Me Four Reasons – Competition.

I have three signed copies of my latest book, Give Me Four Reasons, to give away.
All you have to do is give me four reasons why you would like to win one. Be creative, clever, witty and entertaining. That’s the sort of answers I’ll be looking for.
Think carefully about your responses then write them on this site in the box below. I will be reading all responses carefully, but I won’t be posting your replies until the end of the competition. That way you can’t see what everyone else has written.
The closing date for the competition is July 30th. Winners will be notified by email on July 31st. Please make sure you have your parents’ permission to enter this competition.
So get thinking and writing. Perhaps you might even find some clues on my website to help you with your responses.
Give Me Four Reasons  is suitable for ages 8-14 and beyond. If you can’t wait for the end of July to read it, then Give Me Four Reasons is available in all good bookstores and online bookstores.

  1. 1. one day i would like to be a writer and these books have given me inspiration.

    2. i love these books

    3. i love to read books like these with people who have problems

    4. i would love to read these books as my art teacher has told us all about them.

  2. No. It’s easier for me to keep a track of them in they’re in the same one. Perhaps you could write them in a notebook at home and submit them when you’re happy with all four. Good luck.

  3. Reason One: Looking at this book, I can’t help think what Paige and I have in common. I use to be shy when I was younger because I thought all the big girls were pretty and more mature and I’m small with no importance to them so I felt that if I tried I would alway mess up and make a fool of myself. But now my friends and family I realised that I play myself in the big chessboard game of life and no one can change that.
Reason Two: I have no sisters, only two triplet brothers and a younger one. Reading books about girls who go through problems entirely different from mine makes me think about their life problems and this helps me because I am trying to get a book published soon. Reading about girls ordinary problems helps me to gather criteria for my next book to make it more realistic.
Reason Three: When I go to the Library I look at their range of books and my favourites are always out. I can’t get all my favourite books at bookstores because all the local ones are either too old or closing down. Winning books helps keep me interested in the holidays when my Mum is at work and my Dad also working while my friends aren’t allowed inside or they’re away.
Reason Four: Getting a note in the mail or an email when I’ve won a competition gives me sense of accomplishment. The only time I won a competition worth while I was away for the award ceremony. To know that I have won something makes me know that I can do it even when all the other times I just missed it.

  4. Hi Lizzie I am a big fan of extintion and I would love to read this book here are four reasons why I should win this book:

1.I have been reading for as long as I can remember and you have written my favorite book in the world so I am positive it will be as good as extinction.

2.I love reading new things and this looks nothing like I have ever read before and it sounds like a great best seller.

3.I have been in a similar situation and I would love to hear how it ends because it sounds like a mystery.

4.I have never in my life won a competition but all my friends have so it would be amazing to win one for a change.

    Thanx lily

  5. My first reason why I would like to win this competition is because I am a fantastic reader. I am always looking for new books to read and this one looks like the one for me. My second reason is that this book sounds interesting and I’m looking foward to reading it whenever I get it. My next reason is, I love Lizzie Wilcock books. They always thrill me and the book seems to never leave my hands! And the final, last but not least reason is, I just can’t find the book instores so this gives me a great chance to win it with all of my Heart that’s waiting desperately for this book!

  6. Hello lizzie,
I love the book and would be overwehlmed if I won, so here are my reasons.
    1) I play give me four reasons with my friends
    2) I’ve found myself in the same situation as paige many times
    3) I write books in my spare time because you have inspired me to write!
    4) My name is Lizzie

    • Hi Lizzie
I think you are my first Lizzie!!! Nice to hear from you. Do you really play “Give Me FOur Reasons”with your friends? Did you invent it or have you read my book? I thought ïnvented it, but I guess anyone could come up with it.
It’s a shame that the competition was last July (2011) as I think your answers are pretty cool. Do you really write books in your spare time? WHole novels or short stories? Maybe you will get something published one day. I wish I had started writing when I was a teenager. I am fascinated by opening lines to novels. That’s why I opened “Give Me Four Reasons”with a memorable one – “Give me four reasons why your brain might explode,”said Jed . . . What is one of yours?
