Give Me Four Reasons

ISBN 978-1-921541-82-7

GIVE ME FOUR REASONS is my new novel, due for release in July 2011. It is hugely different from the Extinction Series, so for those of you who prefer your stories to be about real kids doing real things in the real world, then this book is for you!

It is published by Little Hare Books (www.littleharebooks.com) and is available in book shops and online bookstores. I was actually working on “Give Me Four Reasons” at the same time as I was writing the Extinction Series. One day I’d be travelling backwards through time with Annie and Mac, trying to stop the human race from becoming extinct, and the next day I’d be at high school with Paige, trying to sort out her problems with her friends! It was certainly a busy year for me.

I absolutely love “Give Me Four Reasons.” Even though I have written it and re-written it and read and reread it dozens of times now, I still laugh and cry and get excited and scared with Paige, my lead character, every time. I hope you will too.

Here’s the blurb from the back of the book. Let me know what you think.

 Can you be yourself when everything changes?A mix-up . . .A wrong impression . . .A complete new set of rules . . .

Paige has been best friends with Elfi and Rochelle ever since she can remember. On the last day of the school year they make a vow to stay friends forever. But when Paige gets back to school after the summer, she accidentally falls in with the popular crowd and things start to get complicated. Can Paige stay true to her old friends when her new friends don’t like them? And can she stay true to herself when she isn’t sure who she is anymore?

GIVE ME FOUR REASONS is a powerful new novel by Lizzie Wilcock, the acclaimed author of Losing It.

Extinction 2: The Explosive Conclusion

Extinction 2: The Explosive Conclusion

Phew! I have just finished the final proofread of Extinction 2: The Explosive Conclusion. Now it will be sent to the printers and it will be in your local bookstores or on-line book store in August.
I am really proud of Extinction 1, but I feel that Extinction 2 is even stronger and more action-packed. You certainly won’t be disappointed. Travel to five continents awaits you as the the Chosen Ones try to complete their mission. Trouble in the form of humans, animals, climatic factors, and of course Rufus Keller will keep you on the edge of your seat, or bed or wherever you like to do your reading. And of course there will be a lot of time travel. The ending is truly explosive. You’ll need sunglasses just to read it! I wonder who will be the first to leave me a comment on my website after reading it?
Only two more months to wait . . .

Extinction Book Trailer

Wow! My publishers, Scholastic, have made a book trailer for me! And thanks to James and Joshua for showing me how to embed it on my website. Watch it. It is absolutely awesome! It was made by a very talented film student in Sydney. She used stock images and clips and sounds that are available on various internet sites. I am so impressed with what she has done.

When I first watched the trailer, I got chills. It is so powerful and energetic. Is my book really that scary? I guess I kind of forget that it is, knowing it so well and being so close to it. Tell me what you think. And send the trailer to all of your friends or show them how to find it on YouTube by searching for Lizzie Wilcock Extinction.

Lizzie Wilcock’s New Book

Here it is! Finally! My new book, The Day The World Ended– Part One in the two-book Extinction Series. Sorry for the long delay between books, but having a baby (and the sleepless nights that followed for the next three and a half years and are still occuring) has slowed me down. The ideas and the passion for writing are definitely alive, unfortunately when I get the time for writing, my body just wants to sleep.

Somehow I must have managed to do some writing because I have three novels coming out in 2011. This one, The Day The World Ended is different from my first two novels – Losing It and griEVE. It’s an adventure story with kicks and twists and travel to exotic places – in the present and in the past. The book is not due for release until  March 2011. Here’s the blurb from the back of the book to whet your appetite.

‘The world is going to end of September 21st. We know this because we’ve seen it. We were there.’

Mac and Annie Sword are the only survivors when humanity is wiped out, or so they think. A mysterious website reveals they are not alone – and that they have the ability to undo the mass-extinction. But there is someone who will do anything to stop them . . .

A thrilling new series from acclaimed author Lizzie Wilcock.
